"This lentil and vegetable soup has wonderful flavors that become even more intense and satisfying as the soup cooks. Lots of root veggies go into the pot, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, vegetable stock and cilantro. Makes two generous servings."

"Fragrant and aromatic and delicious, as all Indian cooking seems to be. Spiced yogurt and piquant chutneys add dimension and flavor to this vertical offering of potatoes and garbanzo beans."

"The filling is cooked up in one pan and then spooned onto a cheese studded tortilla. Another tortilla covers the filling and this bean/cheese/veggie packet is heated in oil until golden on both sides. Makes four."

"The chickpeas make the pasta nutty and crunchy and the Parmesan cheese stirred in just before chilling adds a wonderful creaminess. There are also peas, oil-cured olives, green onions and fresh herbs. Chill overnight. Serves six."

"The dressing is absolutely sensational in this bean salad - so many taste sensations. It begins with oil and vinegar, but then it gets fancy. Let 's see, there 's lemon and lime juice, garlic, cilantro, sugar, cumin, hot sauce and chili powder to taste."

"A refreshing, light salad for any hot, humid summer day! A great main dish for vegetarians, as well. The basil may be substituted with fresh parsley or mint. Be sure to make this salad just before serving."

"Canned beans never had it so good. You can pick and choose your favorite beans for this dish, because the cooking method is what makes this salad zing. The beans are simmered in bacon drippings and a sweetened vinegar/cornstarch mixture that coast each bean and makes a thick delicious sauce."

"The dressing is zingy - balsamic vinegar, chili powder, oil and cumin do their magic. Tossed with a salad bowl full of kernel corn and black beans, it 's sensational. We think it would be super rolled in a warm tortilla with a dollop of sour cream."
